This beautiful black bamboo is tightly clumped at the base, with large, graceful canes which arch outward as they grow. New shoots will emerge green, turn brown and then black with a vertical green stripe.  This bamboo will grow to 40' with 3" diameter culms.  It is a stunning addition to any landscape.
